This is what it should look and sound like:
Notes
The first few notes is played by a quick bend of the G string.  Plucking the 2nd fret, you'll (1) bend the string up and (2) release again and then (3) pull off the string so that its open sound is played.  All three these steps are done in one fluid motion and can be quite tricky to nail down.  It's the only real difficult part of the riff and sounds great.

Kravitz plays the Riff with his classic overdrive sound and to get the full effects of the riff, you should do the same.
