If you know of any cheap acoustic guitars I should include in this list,
or if you spot a wrong price, please let me know
Ibanez JamPack IJV50
Dean Playmate J
Epiphone AJ1 Acoustic Guitar
Yamaha Gigmaker Acoustic Starter Pack
Jasmine by Takamine Acoustic Guitar
Rogue RA-100D Acoustic Guitar
The Dean Playmate is a well known beginner's guitar and Dean assembles it with new players in mind.  It has easy, light action which is great for beginners and produces a pretty good sound for an inexpensive guitar like this.  The 7/8 size means it's only slightly smaller than regular size which is ideal for new players.  Some have reported the factory strings have a tinny sound to them, so consider replacing these with proper strings.
Easy, light action
Great sound for the price
7/8 size good for learning chords
Factory strings sound 'tinny'
Doesn't stay in tune forever...
$69.99
Great sound
Sharp looking dreadnought design
Stays in tune
Factory strings need replacement
Accesories are low-quality
Ibanez has a reputation for quality instruments.  The Jampack is designed as a starter pack for new guitar players looking for an inexpensive set that delivers.  The guitar delivers excellent value for the price, though the accessories like the bag and straps are not the best quality.  The guitar stays in tune pretty good, though some have reported minor fret buzzing problems.  This is a sharp looking set, which will probably be ideal for most new players.
$99.99
The Epiphone AJ-1 is a cheap acoustic guitar made with quality materials that delivers good sound and tone.  The action on this guitar is decent for new players.  This Epiphone features a beautiful finish that has been assembled professionally.  The overall look, feel and sound of this guitar may be better than most in the price range.  If you buy this one and aim at using it for a long time, I would only recommend changing the machine heads with a higher quality product.
Great sound and action
Made with quality materials
Beautiful finish, well built
Machine Heads need replacement
Better than most in this price range
$79.99
This Acoustic pack from the famous Asian brand is aimed at beginner players who need an all-included started kit.  The guitar has good tonality and brightness and produces a clear and bright tone.  It features a sturdy design with excellent overall value.  As with most value packs the accessories like the strap and bag are not always top-notch, but should do just fine for starters.
Very good tone
Bright resonating sound
Sturdy, quality design
Some accesories are low-quality
Good Value
Great tone for inexpensive guitar
Beautiful, appealing design
Assembled profesionally
No Strap button
High Action
This guitar has a very smooth tone and a thin neck, nice for new players.  It has a nice finish with a beautiful design and delivers great tone for such an inexpensive guitar.  The neck and body is professionally assembled resulting in little to no fret buzz.  Unfortunately many have reported that the guitar has a high action when shipped, but this can be easily adjusted.
The Rogue RA-100D has a very durable design and looks great.  It features a spotless finish with a solid body and fretboard.  It's hard to find a decent instrument at this price, but the Rogue delivers and will be worth it to almost any beginner.  Keep in mind that this is a pretty large guitar - if you're a small fella, consider getting a 7/8 or 3/4 size instead,
Durable Design
Spotless finish
Solid neck and fretboard
Large size

Dean Playmate J 7/8 Size Acoustic Guitar Blueburst
Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack Natural
Epiphone AJ-1 Acoustic Guitar Natural
Yamaha GigMaker Acoustic Guitar Pack Natural
Jasmine by Takamine S35 Acoustic Guitar Natural
Rogue RA-100D Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Sunburst
If you know what to look and listen for, you can find a quality instrument for a budget price.  If you're a first time buyer, get an acoustic guitar with low action.  The higher the action, the more pressure needs to be applied to the strings to have them resonate clearly - not nice for new fingertips...

Note that these are steel stringed acoustic guitars without pickups, they can only be played unplugged.  If you want an acoustic that can 'plug in' head on over to the acoustic-electric section.

These cheap acoustic guitars below have been handpicked as decent entry-level instruments that won't break the bank, but have quality design that will deliver decent tone.
